Several years ago, striving to improve the link between product design and manufacture, TECHNIA recognised the importance of training our engineers to have a comprehensive understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing. Unable to source suitable external training, TECHNIA set about developing our own bespoke GD&T training course. Following several enquiries from suppliers, in 2012TECHNIA began offering this GD&T training on a commercial basis.

Our GD&T training is delivered by our own senior engineers, boasting extensive practical experience using GD&T on commercial projects. The course assumes limited prior knowledge and is suitable for engineers of all abilities working within engineering design, manufacturing, inspection and quality.

Our GD&T training is offered as a 2 day fundamentals course, accredited to various standards depending on customer requirements:

  • ASME Y14.5 2009 (+ 1994)
  • ISO
  • BS 8888
  • SANS (course is endorsed by South African National Standard body)

GD&T is used to control the functional features of engineering components. It allows greater tolerances to be specified on features that are not crucial to the function of the part. This results in lower manufacturing costs and reduced scrappage rates.
Save Time and Reduce Costs with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)

Intrinsys (Now TECHNIA) consider Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing an essential component in any engineer’s toolbox, but don’t just take our word for it…

“More companies should attend this course. Manufacturing companies should understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.”
– Castco

“This course has opened an entire new aspect to how we will calculate and communicate design intent.”
– Widney

“Very good. Instructor had a very good knowledge of subject and was able to answer a range of questions asked with good examples and explanations.”
– Meggitt Aircraft Braking Systems
